Northern California had a clear sky with gusty valley and canyon wind Monday. We can expect weaker wind and more clouds by late Tuesday, with at least two more storms coming our way soon.
Blue sky and sun for northern California Monday, but temperatures were below average. It will be another chilly night with weakening wind and increasing clouds Tuesday, and more stormy weather is coming this week. Gusty wind in the wake of our weekend storm continues in parts of northern California, but that wind prevented some areas from getting very cold last night. There will be enough of a breeze to keep some areas warmer than they should be under a clear sky, but it will still be chilly Tuesday morning. Lows will range from the 0s and 10s in the mountains to the 20s and 30s in the valley and foothills. We'll have morning sun and afternoon clouds Tuesday with highs from the lower 30s to the upper 50s.
Wednesday we will see the start of another weather pattern change as we get increasing clouds, but seasonably mild weather and light wind. The first of two storms will push our way late Thursday and Friday bringing valley and foothill rain, mountain snow and some gusty wind. We'll have a brief break, and then the second storm will be close on the heels of the first, and it will bring more valley rain and mountain snow late Saturday and Sunday. The valley could receive up to an inch of rain from both storms combined, with more in the foothills. Some of our highest mountain peaks could receive 1 1/2 to 2 feet of snow by the end of the weekend. Valley highs will remain in the below average low to mid 50s most of this week.
