MOUNTAIN GATE, Calif. - The Shasta County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting in the Mountain Gate area northeast of Redding.
The incident started around 7 p.m. Wednesday, when witnesses reported shots fired on Fernie Way.
Deputies found a person dead. Investigators said one person was detained at the scene.
Additional information is expected to be released Thursday morning.
