SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - The Shasta County Elections Commission on Monday will discuss ways to secure future elections.
The commission says the current ballot drop boxes are flimsy and the ballots are easy to access. The commission recommends having fewer drop boxes placed around Shasta County and only at places like police or fire stations to allow more secure monitoring.
They also recommend supervisors create an ordinance requiring hand counting of ballots using paper poll books.
The meeting will begin at 2 p.m.
