Storm Tracker Forecast - Light Rain, Mountain Snow, Weaker Wind Tuesday

Strong wind, light rain and mountain snow have been the weather story for northern California today. Advisories and Warnings for wind and snow are in effect through Tuesday morning. Stay safe during this latest storm! Wind gusts have already exceeded 50 mph in parts of the Central Valley today, and the wind will continue through tonight. Rain and snow will also fall, with most of the rain in the foothills and the snow levels rising in the mountains. Lows tonight will range from the 20s in the mountains to the 30s and 40s in the foothills and valley. Tuesday will be cloudy with more rain and snow showers, but they won't be too heavy. The wind will also weaken. Highs will range from the 30s in the mountains to the 50s in the valley.

The clouds will stay over northern California most of Wednesday and Thursday, but the rain and snow we receive will seem limited compared to the amount of clouds in the sky. Another trough of low pressure will bring another round of valley rain, mountain snow and moderate breezes on Friday. This weekend a larger ridge of high pressure will move over the West Coast, and that will allow our weather pattern to settle a bit with more sunshine and more seasonable temperatures. After Monday, our weather pattern doesn't look as active as it was in December, but rain and snow will still be possible. Valley lows will fall from the mid and upper 40s to the mid and upper 30s. Valley highs will rise from the lower 50s to the upper 50s.
