...Gusty North Winds Thursday night into Friday Afternoon...

.A weather system passing to our northeast will bring gusty north
to northeast winds to interior northern California. The strongest
winds will be over the west side of the Sacramento Valley,
coastal range and favored wind prone areas of the northeast
foothills and mountains.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO
5 PM PDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...North winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph,
locally higher.

* WHERE...Sacramento Valley, Delta and Northern San Joaquin
Valley.

* WHEN...From 11 PM Thursday to 5 PM PDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
result. Gusty winds could impact high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...These strong and gusty winds will result
in critical fire weather conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

...Red Flag Warning for Gusty Winds and Low Humidity Today through Friday...

.A weather system passing to the northeast will bring gusty north
and east winds to interior northern California. Winds will increase
this morning and will be strongest tonight into Friday morning. The
strongest winds will be over the west side of the Sacramento Valley
and the Coastal Range Foothills. Gusty winds combined with drying
fuels will lead to critical fire weather conditions. Lighter winds
are expected on Saturday, but humidity values will remain in the
single digits and teens.

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO
8 PM PDT FRIDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER
ZONES 213, 215, 216, 217, 218, 219, 263, 266, AND 279...

* WIND...Northerly winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph,
locally up to 55 mph.

* HUMIDITY...Minimum humidities 5 to 12 percent during the
afternoons with overnight recoveries 20 to 35 percent.

* GREATEST THREAT...West side of the Sacramento Valley mainly
along and west of Interstate 5 and 505 and into the Coastal
Range Foothills below 2500 feet. Strongest winds tonight
through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop may spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Redding Rancheria announced recipients of community funds grant

REDDING, Calif. - The Redding Rancheria Community Foundation of the North State gifted more than $122,000 in community fund grants.

Organizations in Shasta and Trinity counties will be receiving grants that total to $122,207.

The community foundation received 68 applications for the fund which had a focus on indigenous, youth and/or rural populations.

“We are proud to play our part in the community,” said Tracy Edwards, chief executive officer at the Redding Rancheria. “Knowing how much need exists in our region, decision-making continues to be difficult. We are dedicated to supporting worthy causes and know there will be additional opportunities in the future, starting with our next grant cycle in the spring.”
