Mt. Shasta Ski Park opening with fresh snow Friday

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. - Mount Shasta Ski Park is set to open for the season Friday as it’s now covered in fresh powder.

This year the lodge is back open after last year's COVID shutdowns so there are plenty of spots to grab a warm meal or drink between runs.

They've also added more parking but the ski park says early birds still get those prime spots.

“We have added two other lots by our third lot so that means we have room for a couple hundred more vehicles up on the hill,” said Jim Mullins, the general manager at the Mount Shasta Ski Park.

While the snowfall means great powder, it also could mean longer drives.
