Monument Fire: Evacuation ordered for Junction City

Update 12:20 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021 - Per the Trinity County Sheriff's Office and Trinity County Office of Emergency Services, the community of Junction City is now under an Evacuation Order.

Areas of Red Hill Road, Lake Road, Senger Road, Conner Creek, Hocker Road, Spruce Road, Hummingbird Road, Montezuma Road, El Rocko Road, Spruce Guinea Road, Dutch Creek Road, Canyon Creek Road, Power House Road, Upper Road, Lower Road, Valdor Road, and any other residence connected or otherwise in the general area, are now under an evacuation order.

Area residents and visitors in the above-listed areas should leave the area due to increased fire activity. While leaving the area use caution as emergency vehicles assisting with evacuations, structure protection, and fire suppression efforts will be on the roadways.

Residents that leave are encouraged to go to the Red Cross shelter in Weaverville located at the First Baptist Church, 1261 Main Street.


HELENA, Calif. - The area of Helena is under an evacuation order, according to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office.

People in the area should leave and use caution as fire vehicles will be in the area assisting with evacuations, structure protection and fire suppression.

Caltrans said Highway 299 is closed from Burnt Ranch to East Fork Rd. in Helena.

As of Friday morning, the Monument Fire was 36,015 acres and forced evacuations in Big Bar, Del Loma and Cedar Flat.
