Chico High lockdown lifted as stabbing investigation continues

CHICO, Calif. - Chico High School was on lockdown after a student walked into the office and said they had been stabbed in the arm, according to the Chico Police Department. 

Police said the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic kid, took off and is not believed to be on campus. 

The student who said they were stabbed is OK, according to police, as no medics were called to the scene. 

The Chico Unified School District said the school went on lockdown after students were returning to class. 

The school was placed on lockdown at 12:27 p.m. and the school district says it was lifted at 12:45 p.m.

Police are currently looking for the suspect and continue to investigate the incident.
