Chico High Girls Basketball wins 7th straight game, beating Lassen 68-57

COTTONWOOD, Calif. - Chico High Girls Basketball is on a roll, with seven straight wins.

The Panthers latest win was a 68-57 win over Lassen in the West Valley New Years Tournament. 

Chico and Lassen showed off on offense in the first quarter, with a combined 37 points.

The Grizzlies got things going first. Ryleigh Hart passed it down low to Grace Harlan for an easy layup. 

The Panthers had a quick answer. Taylee Clements knocked down a wide open triple to tie the game at three. 

It was all Chico from there. It's lead grew to as many as 10 in the first quarter. Lassen cut the lead to three at the end of the first quarter. 

The Panthers lead 40-27 at the half.

Despite being held to two points in the fourth quarter, Chico hung on to secure the win.

Three Panthers scored in double figures. Junior Rebecca Digmon tallied a team high 16 points. Sophomore Taylee Clements finished with 14 and Junior Campbell Vieg scored 12. 

The tournament continues for Chico Tuesday at 6:30.
