SUSANVILLE, Calif.- CAL FIRE is working to contain 10 fires in the State Protection area.

Lightning struck the Susanville area at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The largest of these incidents is near Devil's Corral and is currently at 15 acres, said CAL FIRE.

Eight of the fires are around the Susanville area, one is northwest of Eagle Lake near the Coyote Reservoir and the last one is in the Fox Mountain area, southwest of Eagle Lake.

CAL FIRE anticipates additional hold over lightning fires as it continues to dry out after Wednesday's rain.
