TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - The Tehama County Sheriff's Office is looking for three suspects who kidnapped, carjacked and assaulted a man over the weekend in Tehama County.

At approximately 4:06 p.m. on Sunday, deputies with the Tehama County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a home in the 8000 block of Rawson Road for reports of a subject suffering from a stab wound.

According to the sheriff's office, when the deputies arrived at the scene, they contacted the victim, who told them that three subjects had come into his home. The three subjects, who deputies say were armed with knives, proceeded to handcuff the victim and reportedly stole several items from within the residence.

Following the theft, the suspects took the victim from his home and placed him into his vehicle, described as a brown 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The suspects drove the victim around Tehama County for several hours in his pickup truck.

Authorities say that at some point, the handcuffs were removed from the victim's wrists, which allowed him to escape from his three captors. The victim's truck, bearing California license plate 16718Z1, is still outstanding at this time.

One of the three suspects has been identified as 36-year-old Ruben Banuelos Jr. Deputies are actively seeking to contact Banuelos and are working to identify the other two individuals who were involved. They are all still currently outstanding.

The Tehama County Sheriff's Office is still actively working on leads in this case to locate the suspects, the vehicle and other items that were stolen from the victim. At this time, the motive is unknown.

Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Tehama County Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit at (530) 529-7920.
