SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - The Shasta County Clerk is informing the public about potential voter intimidation happening in the county.

Shasta County Clerk Cathy Darling Allen says there have been reports of people contacting voters at their homes to question their voter registration status, which violates state law.

Law enforcement has been alerted.

Allen says employees of the elections department will not go to homes and question voters.

She said the department confirms and validates all applications for voter registration and will not do this by going door-to-door.

People are asked to report these incidents at (530) 225-5730 or to law enforcement.
