Former Central Valley High School wrestling coach found guilty on all charges of sexual assault, unlawful sexual conduct

REDDING, Calif. - Former Central Valley High School wrestling coach, Stephen Reed, was found guilty on all charges in connection to sexual assault and unlawful sexual conduct by a Shasta County jury, Shasta County District Attorney, Stephanie Bridgett said. 

Reed, who was arrested in Feb. 2020, was found guilty of eight counts of statutory rape, six counts of sexual assault and possession of child pornography. 

The Shasta County jury also found the special allegations to be true in connection with sexual assault or unlawful sexual conduct involving five separate juvenile victims between the ages of 14 and 17, said Bridgett. 

Reed’s sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 2. He is facing up to 19 years in state prison and will be required to register as a sex offender.
