* WHAT...High temperatures from 95 to 105, with the hottest
temperatures expected Wednesday afternoon. Overnight lows from
65 to 75.

* WHERE...Portions of the Sacramento Valley, Carquinez Strait
and Delta, Northern San Joaquin Valley and Northeast Foothills.

* WHEN...From noon Tuesday to 11 PM PDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Widespread moderate, to locally high, heat risk. Heat-
related illnesses will be possible, especially for groups that
are sensitive to the heat.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

through Wednesday Morning...

.Breezy northerly winds combined with low relative humidity will
continue to bring areas of critical fire weather conditions
through Wednesday morning. Strongest winds are expected into the
early evening today along the western Sacramento Valley and into
the Coastal Range foothills.

FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 215, 216,

* WIND...Northerly winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Strongest winds expected today.

* HUMIDITY...Minimum humidities 5 to 15 percent with overnight
recoveries 25 to 45 percent.

* GREATEST THREAT...West side of the Sacramento Valley, mainly
along and west of Interstate 5, and into the Coastal Range
foothills.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
