action news now reporter amy lanski joins us now live from fire station five... amy, what was the mood like out there today? it was an emotional ceremony just a few hours ago here behind me.. people lining up around noon today at this 9-11 monument to honor those lost. there were firefighters from all over butte county... as well as first responders.. people stood in silence as they listened to speeches about what the day means. nobody was more emotional than marie mitchell who lost her brother iin the collapse of the south tower. "i know my brother is in there and i know he has died and he is int here, and i am watching him basically be cremated in front of my eyes with so many others, but i can't wrap my head around the emensity of this thing because it's so sacred here, there was so much prayer and goodwill coming towards new york and at the same time it was the most horrific thing i have ever seen." mitchell went on to say you go on a place from personal loss to public tragedy... and the important thing to remember about today is being historically accurate with what happened. coming up at five i spoke to a chico fire captain who explained the experience of going to ground zero a month after the attacks. reporting from chico. amy lanski
