### a suspicious pillowcase advertisement that seems to profit off the camp fire is fake, says butte county district attorney mike ramsey. action news now reporter laura eng went to paradise to speak with survivors about this latest development. ### to have people take advantage of our situation, in that way, it's really heartbreaking. look out, butte county district attorney mike ramsey says he's onto the latest scheme... a fake velveteen silk pillowcases advertisement seemingly profiting from the camp fire. laura: take a look at this, this is the video that's been circulating all over facebook. it shows video from the camp fire and then even shows the teacher from the paradise school who was affected by the fire. when you click on the link, next to the video on facebook, it actually takes you to this link, shows you several pillows, but doesn't mentiont the camp fire. ramsey said his investigator confirmed there is no teacher named "miss shelly" that works in paradise as the video claims. he also said the photos of the children in the ad are not from paradise. that is the ultimate of everything being taken from you. and then for someone to try to profiteer off of that is absolutely heartless. we showed alec parmley the advertisement. his brother, a butte county shierff's deputy lost his home in the camp fire. it's sad, but it definitely is not cool and it's not nice to think about, but this person needs to get caught and punished for what they're doing. the pillow case ad mentions a "paradise pre- school." we confirmed there is a school called "paradise preschool," but it wasn't even open the morning of the camp fire. it closed a few months earlier. laura eng action news now. we have repeatedly tried to reach out to the company selling the pillowcases, but we were not able able to make contact. ###
