competeing with powerhouses from sacramento, santa clara and san francisco&. the chico cal blaze soccer team pulled off many upsets to become champions of not one--- but two tournaments in california... team work--- chemistry--- and the heart to keep going& is what makes up the under 14 chico cal blaze soccer team& "and that's what i love about this group& is really unselfish, no egos on this team and they all play for each other, great friends and they work hard&" six seasons in the making& "when we were little we weren't technically as good as we are now. and so it feels great to be where we are now. year after year we start getting a step higher and like now we're there and we worked so hard as a team& and this summer& chico cal blaze competed against some of the biggest clubs in california& first in the american river independence cup in sacramento and then the pleasanton rage summer showcase& "they were difficult. they definitely challenged us and they were pretty high in rank, but we had to put are all in and all of our skill that we practiced and trained for and put it all together& to not only win games& but take home the championship trophy in the premier two bracket. and ally littau--- only allowed one goal the entire weekend& " a huge accomplishment from a team in chico because most teams from up here struggle with huge clubs and teams& but this team has been playing so well and they showed themselves that they can play with anybody really." "so excited. never really saw it coming. i was hoping but never really saw the outcome. all of our hard work, blood, sweat and tears& feels great to pay off in the end." the girls will head back to sacramento this weekend to play in the union cup& they also will move up to the premier level this fall. for now vanessa romo action news
