school starts in less than a week and today the community came together to make sure that students in paradise are ready for their first day of classes. action news now reporter kristian lopez spoke with kids who shared how much this means to them. hundreds of students affected by the camp fire are now ready for their first day of school. drew fisher/5th grader: it makes me feel really good because i've never seen so much love before from people. vinny fisher/4th grader: it makes my heart feel really great. with school less than a week away, kids on the ridge came out to the paradise aquatic center saturday for a free backpack giveway and barbecue. krystal young/mother: i'm very blessed it means the world to us i was very stressed out i didn't think i was gonna have the money to buy school supplies since we lost our home. carolyn hunter/tetra tech communication manager: we try to give back to communities that we work in and we thought this would be a great way to give back and support the community while they rebuild. kristian stand up: each kid went home with one of these backpacks& filled with school supplies. victor garcia: im really excited because the fire was really scary and now we get to move to the new place we are at, its actually pretty cool. joslyn jones/5th grader: it makes me feel like people really care and love us& drew fisher/4th grader: it makes me feel awesome because i know that there's people that will help me in life and it makes me feel like i can succeed. in paradise kristian lopez action news now. ### if you couldn't make it to the event, organizers say they'll have backpacks available at the new paradise ridge elementary school.###
