highway patrol is investigating how a train hit a car on the tracks on highway 32 and west east avenue in chico this afternoon. we have action news now reporter laura eng live at the scene... where the train is now cleared. i'm live in north chico - where the train hit the car. natural sound the collision happened just before three o'clock... two people inside the car managed to escape before the white dodge charger was struck by the freight train. ultimately for the safety of everyone involved, it's imperative that you obey the rules of the road and stop by that railroad crossing so you don't end up in a situation like this where you're forced to flee from your vehicle that's stropped by a train. traffic was stopped for about an hour in this area as the car was being cleared. the chp said it's still unclear how the car got stuck on the tracks. live in chico laura eng action news now# the c-h-p will be releasing a damage assessment report within the next ten
