Two Pleasant Valley High volleyball players placed in Junior Olympics in Santa Monica this weekend.

players were making waves down in so-cal this week& delaney thau and kenna chapin --- teammates since 6th grade& "we are really close as friends it really improves the way we play& like we know each other really well, so we can work with each other& and win with each other& these two pleasant valley sophomores just placed ninth in the aau junior olympics this week in southern california& a featãnever done before by a viking& : "at first we were like oh, we did good& but then when we really found out we were really excited and to know that no one has ever come this far& so that was a really good feeling& " overcoming unfamiliar conditions& delaney and kenna beat out teams from all over the country& "we kind of felt like we were behind at first because everybody already knows the wind and all of the factors of being on the beach constantly but it was like we were behind& but we caught up to them& and never stopped& "we've come such a far way from sixth grade when we would go down to santa cruz and we wouldn't make it out of pool play which is the first thing that you do and then now we're making it into the gold bracket at the junior olympics& and not just that& but also placing second in the p-14-40 and the california beach volleyball association... bothaying their chemistry equals their success& "and the fact that we always trust each other, confident in each other and support each other." they also credit their volleyball coach at plesant valley high school for their success & if you would like to attend one of their camps& they will have one at the end of july& you can visit our website at action news now under the sports tab for more information&
