The Forebay Aquatic Center is working on some new projects to bring economic development, tourism and recreation to the North State.

you may see some big changed coming to the forebay aquatic center... action news now reporter amy lanski has the latest on what's in store. "the forebay aquatic center is working on some projects to bring economic development, tourism, and recreation to the north state." "we have three projects in mind to do that. one is to excavate part of the peninsula to create a 2k 8 lane rowing race course so we can have rowing for both collegiate and masters rowing groups." the second project is to build a two story boating and safety center on the point.. so they can move the rentals to the new building and dedicate the current building to rowing. "thirdly we would like to move our sailing operations to the south forebay because that's a better shape and body of water for sailing and they get better wind there." currently staff are working on getting approval from state parks and department of water resources. "they built oroville damn in 1968 and city of oroville was promised to be a recreation destination so for any number of reasons that hasn't happened yet."
