people seeing more rattlesnakes in the camp fire burn scar this year? action news now amy lanski went to paradise to find out. amy standup-- 00-14 enloe staff say they usually see around 7 rattle snake bites per year... this year they are already at five.. and oroville is close to that. paul robbie- cg in 5 9-14 "this is the time of year where we will see more and more rattlesnake bites, i think we have seen four up to date." one contractor in paradise said he's seen a couple on sites. ken- cg in 4:18-:30 "there was a baby rattlesnake ccrawling along side the building and then another one a set of nail bags set on another job and the guy went to pick up the bags and the snake crawled in the bags." if you do get bitten --you need to get to a hospital immediately. robbie says about one in four bites are dry bites but there is no way in knowing so you you need to be under doctor care. paul "you want to have the antivenom within 6 hours of the bite, all the old treatments we used to do like in size, suck the wound, elevate, ice, we don't advocate with that anymore, so they need to be treated with the antivenom." amy standup: 53-1:03 staff from enloe say they are expecting an increase in bites because it was a big breeding year for the snakes due to the rain. reporting from paradise amy lanski action news now.. governor gavin
