welcome back to action news now. right now, tehama county is entering a battle against the placement of a sexually violent predator from humboldt county. action news now reporter elizabeth zelidon is live with more on the strong opposition from his potential future neighbors. elizabeth where exactly would joshua cooley be living if he moves to red bluff? as of right now... humboldt county has been advised by the department of state hospitals to place cooley just off of highway 36. you can see that's not very far away from central red bluff.. and that's why people here say they're against it. ask anyone in red bluff and you will pretty much get the same answer.... sot: sot: noone wants a sexually violent predator from humbolt county living in red bluff. sot: the tehama county district attorney's office has spoken up about their opposition to the relocation of joshua cooley. and their opposition is being backed by the red bluff police department, the tehama county sheriff's office, the tehama county probations department, and more. humbolt county officials say they've found quote extraordinary circumstance" to place cooley in the tehama county district attorney is expected to attend that meeting. he has submitted letters as to why tehama county isn't the right location for cooley. ###
