breaking news- redding police arrested stabbing suspect early this morning. officers say this woman-- "margaret brice"-- stabbed a victim along the sacramento river trail around 3 a-m. police say they spoke to the victim-- who identified brice as the suspect. when officers found her-- they say she had blood on her clothes. the victim is expected to be okay. brice is now behind bars in the shasta county jail-- for attempted murder and a parole violation.#### a report by the wall street journal claims that pg&e*knew-- for year* that the power line that sparked the camp fire-- posed a wildfire threat. but instead of repairing that line.. the energy giant placed it low on the list of priorities.. in a statement pg&e said-- the utility disagrees with the journal's conclusions.#### assemblyman james gallagher's camp fire housing bill passed another committee. a-b 430 passed the senate governance and finance committee with bipartisan support today. the bill seeks to speed up the environmental review process for housing projects. it now heads to the senate appropriations committee. ### we now know more details about a police standoff situation-- since action news now first broke the news yesterday morning. the butte county sheriff's office says carl ackerman told his estranged wife he was going to kill himself and his two young children... an hours long standoff with deputies ensued. the children were not hurt... deputies safely took ackerman into custody.#### a man is now behind bars-- for stabbin* a victim and stealing a bicycle in chico. police arrested anthony mendoza-- wednesday morning near the former graduate bar in chico. that person is expected to be okay. mendoza is charged with robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.### this morning, people from texas to florida are bracing for what's expected to become the first hurricane of the 2019 storm season. they are calling the storm system "hurricane barry". labor secretary alex acosta is rejecting calls to resign, and insisting the plea deal he worked out with billionaire jeffrey epstein was the best he could get. that's despite another victim coming out and saying she was assaulted by the wealthy financier back in the early 2000s when she was fifteen.### customs and border protection is investigating reports of sexual assault at one of its facilities. tomorrow-- the d-h-s and department of health and human services inspectors general will answer questions at a house hearing... on detention center conditions.#### and you're
