standoff in the town of nord ended this morning after a father let his children out of his home, after investigators say he threatened to kill them, and himself... there's your baby!! our cameras were rolling as the children's mother ran to scoop the young children up in her arms... the butte county sheriff's office says 35-year-old carl ackerman was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife... he was due in court this morning to be sentenced on charges unrelated to this morning's standoff. deputies say the 5 hour standoff started around 2am, when ackerman began making dangerous threats. the childrens mother, after these text messages, she came here to try to get the children, and he wouldn't let her, and that's when she called 911. ackerman emerged around 7am with the kids.. he was arrested and faces a host of felony charges. the children were not injured. ############## one man
