lake oroville is nearly filled to the brim -- good news for boaters this holiday weekend! action news now reporter amy lanski checked out bidwell canyon marina today.. amy how did the weekend turn out? haley... it was a big difference from last year.. today the lake levels are at 891 feet.. 9 feet from the top! compare that to these pictures from 2018.. when the d-w-r dropped the lake nearly 100 feet while they worked on the busted spillway.. today -- it's a different story. ryan walters- visiting lake oroville "it's packed it's busy everyone's having fun, everyone is having a good time, yeah everything is pretty safe not much going on." staff from bidwell canyon marina said it's one of their busiest weekends of the year. tony davis- bidwell canyon marina "we try to get everything cleaned up all of our rentals really clean we preload on ice because we sell quite a bit of ice this weekend and make sure everythign is fine tuned and oiled so it operates properly." one of the main campgrounds is being occupied by camp fire victims... but davis said it didn't impact busines. one boater said his family has spent the fourth of july weekend there before.. and they love the commradory with all the other house boaters. adam hall "they usually have a fireworks show, unfortunately htey haven't done it the past couple years because of the spillway but normally they do and you can actyually watch the fireworks over the lake and it's a good time the kids love it." even without the fireworks.. hall said the high lake levels makes it fun. "it's amazing when it's this high because it's a different lake. when it's low it's completely different, there's not as many places to park, so it's good to see when it's so high." ## staff told me the lake is usually about 100 feet lower this time of the year.. so they are happy to see it's full. haley. the boom in traffic from outside visitors to the lake is also great news for the local economy.## many
