kris kuyper is here now with weather... the heat was on around the north state on monday, and tuesday looks even hotter! we'll get some relief by the end of the week, but it'll still be rather toasty. the heat of summer is here! strong high pressure over the north state and no help from the delta breeze led to a scorching hot monday, with high temperatures in the valley in the triple digits. valley highs ranged from 100 to 105, and tuesday looks a little warmer with highs ranging from 103 to 106! tuesday should be the peak of this heatwave, however, as high pressure will weaken after that. valley high temperatures will drop into the upper 90's by thursday and friday... still hot, but at least a little better than the triple digits. that slight cooldown won't last long, as we'll get back to the triple digit trouble by this upcoming weekend. look for highs in the valley around 100 both saturday and sunday, so it'll be a perfect weekend for the lake or creek, or a pool party at the house! stay cool! scattered afternoon thunderstorms will return to the mountains later this week, mainly in the sierra nevada. thanks kris coming up in sports... a chico dance studio has partnered with the
