Flooding forces evacuations in the Rock Creek area

The Butte County Sheriff's Office issued various evacuations in the area of Rock Creek on Thursday due to flooding.

debbie heavy flooding at the north end of chico forced some people to leave their homes a little after a 11 today. vo take a look at this scene on wilson landing road this morning. you can see the water covering both sides of the road.. moving onto people's front lawns. the butte county sheriff issued evacuation orders for the area of 'hamilton nord cana highway' and 'wilson landing road' south of rock creek.. for a possible breach of the rock creek levee.. we spoke with one woman preparing to evacuate. sot because say, later the rain will bring more water. vo despite the floodwaters... traffic was still flowing in both directions on highway 99 in north chico, by nord fire station 41 this morning. . ### wipe debbie debbie vo people living off garner lane headed to butte county fire station 41 to make sandbags.. the station on highway 99 had mounds of sand.. and stacks of bags.. after getting an evacuation alert from the butte county sheriff people raced to get sandbags and place them around their homes.
