hour. ### lauren lauren mailbox theft is becoming a big issue in the city of redding. in fact, in the last few days one woman witnessed the arrest of a burglary suspect on her property. boxes action news now reporter elizabeth zelidon spoke with a now very fearful victim about what police are saying she should do now. elizabeth? reporter live when you consider what might be in your mailbox .. such as bank staements, credit card information and other personal documents you can imagine how disturbing it would be to find someone rummaging through it all. that happened to kathleen dodson -- who is now left wondering how to prevent this from ever happening again. shock after finding a man in her backyard and going through her mailbox late at night. "i just something. i mean someone is in my house and i freaked " kathleen dobson. kathleen dobson says she owns a home on wilson way ... but saturday's night event --- which led to the arrest of a 21- year-old for going through her property -- now has her asking questions. " its just a breach of security and it needs to be dealt with in other ways of communicating. they do it in other towns." kathleen dodson. action news now spoke with kathleen on the phone about the frightful night. she arrested it has her worries for her safety and security. put notices that the home is vacant and a rubber band then yes i am very concerned." kathleen dobson. we reached out the redding police department to find out how big of an issue mail theft is in our area. "it's a big problem because once a person finds a place where they can steal things they will come back repeatedly. corporal will williams, rpd " more ... the only way to fix things is to call and report it with the united states postal investigators. "until we figure out how best to deal with thieves and hold them to a currently doing i don't think we are going tc " ### reporter live the postal investigator does want to remind people to report these federal crimes. suspects could face five years in prison as well as a one hundred and 50 thousand dollar fiine. we'll have more details on how serious these crimes are coming up at 6. in redding .. elizabeth zelidon ... action news now.
