CHICO, Calif. -- March Madness is around the corner and the Chico State mens basketball team found out who they'll be facing the opening round of the NCAA Div. II bracket.

Tonight's selection show revealed the Wildcats earned the fourth seed in the West division.

After missing out on the last two tournaments, the Wildcats won 22 regular season games. That's their best total since 1984.

They'll take on Fifth Seed Seattle Pacific University in the opening round. They'll play at the RIMAC arena in La Jolla, CA.

It's not the first time these two sides will meet this year.

The wildcats beat Seattle Pacific by 22 points on the road last November.

Chico State tips off its March Madness campaign this Friday night at 7:30pm our time.

Thursday was the last fairly quiet weather day that we'll have in northern California as a series of storms will move our way through next week. Our first chance for rain and snow showers arrives Friday morning with a cold front.
