COTTONWOOD, Calif. -- He's a leader on and off the football field, and is a huge reason why the West Valley Eagles are still undefeated at 5-0.
The Eagles average 175 rushing yards a game and Eagles' senior Cade Lambert leads the team on the ground with 351 yards so far this season. The senior plays both sides of the ball and leads in tackles as well.
But, that's not all. Lambert holds a 3.8 GPA. Which is another reason head coach Greg Grandell chose Lambert to lead the Eagles as captain.
Lambert says he still has unfinished business on the field. West Valley has never won back-to-back DIII section titles, but say after starting the season undefeated, they are ready for the battle.
West Valley has a Bye this week. They will pick up non-conference play at Orland next Friday.
