OROVILLE, Calif. -- In front of family, friends and teammates, Las Plumas High senior Kylee Potes signed on the dotted line.

The softball pitcher will go on to play at Simpson University next season.

Potes helped lead the Thunderbirds to two league titles and one section. Last season Potes collected 289 strikeouts. In one game, she struck out 20 of the 21 batters.

She says she's been pitching with her dad since she was a little girl and is grateful he was by her side to sign.

"When I was little I would pitch every day and I would practice," said Potes. "I never really stopped playing."

Potes received a full ride scholarship to Simpson University. She plans to major in biology.
