CHICO, Calif. --  The Pleasant Valley Viking are coming off last season 5-1 in league play and 10-3 overall.

The Vikings won eight of their last nine games to become the State Champions in their division, their second title in three years.

Head Coach Mark Cooley will return at the helm along with 20 returning players, nine od which started last year.

As of now, Coach Cooley says it's too early to see where his team is at, but they're up for the tough schedule ahead.

"It's about coming out and being physical," said Coach Cooley. "[I want to see] how hard we can hit. Three of the teams we face are the top three teams in the state of California: Delo Orro, Valley Christian and Rancho. Right now we're all topping the rankings, so it should be intersting."

The Vikings will open preseason play away at Del Oro on August 23. The Vikings will play their home opener against River Valley on September 13.
