A celebration was held Saturday night for local MMA fighter Benito "The Golden Boy" Lopez.

Fresh off his UFC debut win over Albert Morales as part of UFC Fight Night 123 last Saturday in Fresno, Lopez is back in his hometown of Oroville.

He celebrated the victory at Miner's Alley Brewing Company on Montgomery Street.

Several people and friends came out to show support.

But, perhaps the best thing about the day for Lopez was not the party, it was doing something for someone near and dear to his heart with his UFC debut winnings.

"This morning I actually bought my grandma a new 2010 Chevy Impala. She wanted one of those you know and I got to do that and give back so I've been on cloud nine and I feel great, it's a good thing to give back to my Grams who's done so much for me," said Lopez.

Lopez says his grandma and grandpa helped raise him and his three other siblings.

As for the future, Lopez has not scheduled his next fight, but he's hoping to have something lined up in the near future.
