REDDING, Calif. --

Nine players between fourth and eighth grade will head this weekend to Las Vegas for the 2020 Diamond Elite East vs. West Bowl.

"Some kids don't get this chance to go to Las Vegas to play against kids from all over the country, so for us to get this chance and to be training for this for so long, we feel like we've earned it," said eighth grader Cade Dutton.

These all-stars have been practiving four times a week. Will Johson who owns Fierce Sports Training in Redding coaches the talented athletes.

"A lot of areas have their pick, their cream of the crop," said Johnson. "All I'm trying to do is develop what we have in these kids and that's what we do in the training. Speed and agility, train we do strength and conditioning. So I prepare these guys to be not just normal, not just regular, not just getting to prepare for a season. These guys are prepared to dominate."

Games will start on January 19th and last all day.

A dry and warmer than average Presidents' Day and work week is expected as high pressure dominates our weather. High temperatures will make the mid to upper 60s and the next chance for rain isn't until next Sunday.
