CHICO, Calif. - Top high school football athletes from across the North State battled for bragging rights while supporting a worthwhile cause. They were playing at Chico High School on Sunday during the 42nd annual Lions All-Star football game.
Top players from Yuba City to Shasta County all came together and formed two different teams.
The "south" beat the "north" in a close match with a final score of 13 to 12.
This was the first time back on the field for two Paradise High School players.
All the money raised goes toward the Lion's Children's diabetic program at Camp McCumber in Shasta County, which is located in Shingletown.
The Lions of District 4-C1 created the diabetes camp for kids in 1988 at Camp McCumber in order to help kids adjust to their situation and learn how to take care of themselves responsibly while living a normal life style.
