PARADISE, Calif. -- Paradise Little League managed to have a spring season after the Camp Fire. It just wasn't on their home field.

“The wood was damaged during the fire so we have to replace those and on our minor field we will be fixing up the score keeper’s booth and doing some fence work and just general field maintenance because we haven’t played on it in over a year," said PLL President Pam Beauchamp.

Beauchamp says repairs and lights for Egleson Field will cost nearly $90,000.

PLL is holding a fundraiser called,' Return to Paradise Virtual Run."

"The best part about this is its called a virtual run. So you can run wherever, whenever, how much, how little you can do, whatever you want, and what you do is take a picture of your run or what you did and then get your shirt and your medal," said Beauchamp.

The fundraiser will run until the last day of January. Funds raised will help build an indoor practice facility for PLL players.

Paradise Little League has also partnered with a non-profit called, "More than a Game" to help with field renovations.

They will help with renovations from February 3-8. The days will begin at 9 a.m to 4 p.m.

PLL says they need volunteers, builders to donate materials as well as labor, people or restaurants to feed the volunteers, and trailers or homes for volunteers to stay.

"We want to bring the kids back home, on home field," said Beauchamp. "To see the kids out here, just playing baseball and having the parents in the stands and just seeing them out there and doing what’s normal [is all I want.]"

December began on a beautiful note for northern California with plentiful sunshine, seasonably cool lows and warmer than average highs. Much of wednesday will be similar to today, but clouds will stream into our sky late in the day.
