This story is sure to put a smile on your face. Thanks to Chico State Athletics and the Make-A-Wish foundation, a five-year-old boy with a serious heart condition will have his dream become a reality. Action News Now's Ross Field brings you the story.

It's halftime of the Chico State men's basketball game, but this is so much more than a game.

Five-year-old Alex Vue is busy schmoozing with Wildcats Athletic Director Anita Barker. Alex's dad Tong will tell you he's friendly.

"He's really energetic, he's really friendly, he talks to anybody, gives anybody a hug, I really love him," said Tong Vue.

Alex is also very brave. He was born with a serious heart condition.

"He was a single ventricle baby. Through his early six year life he's went through three open heart surgeries," said Tong Vue.

But the Chico State Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Make-A-Wish foundation is helping him forget that in an unforgettable way.

Alex is going to Legoland.

"I never went to Legoland. I'm really happy!" Alex exclaimed.

He also recieved a bag of gifts including a Spider Man doll, and he will also visit SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo.

But, it's been his big wish to go to the toy theme park and with the help of Chico State and Make-A-Wish, Alex will get to experience all that Legoland has to offer.

"Ride roller coasters and bumpy rides," said Alex.

What do you like about legos?

"hey're cool and also you can build Spider Man with it," he said.

A dream come true for the Vue family and also for the students involved.

This is about people helping people who are facing a difficult time in their lives.

"I physically felt the warmth in my heart and it was just so sweet and seeing the look on his face when it happened, like you can never replace that," said Claire Wayne, Chico State softball player.

"We knew he was going to be so surprised and his reaction was going to be cute, but it's so great to see the students really get into this and dress up as legos and bring his favorite superhero Spiderman," said Michele Flynn, Make-A-Wish.

"I think he had an impact on all of our lives as well and all that Chico State Athletics stands for and all that Make-A-Wish stands for and the fact that we can partner together and make an impact like this is really something special," said Haley Kroll, Chico State Student Athlete Advisory Committe Co-President.
