BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --  The CIF State Wrestling Championships continued Friday in Bakersfield. A handful of the North State's wrestlers made it to the quarterfinals, but only two will move on the semifinals Saturday.

Durham High's Jacob Christensen represented the Trojans. He is in the 220 weight class and is the No. 1 seed.

He defeated Davis' Zach Brooks in the quarters by a 4-1 decision.

He will face Gabriel Carranza in the semifinals on Saturday.

"I feel good. I wrestled him one time during the year. I’m looking forward to keeping the match in my favor and go to the finals," said Jacob.

Orland High's Jennifer Soto was looking to defend her state title. She is also the No. 1 seed in the 121 weight class.

Soto beat her opponent in the quarters by a 7-4 decision to move on to the semifinals.

"I feel great, I feel confident. It doesn’t matter who I wrestle. I will go out there and dominate. That’s the plan and that’s what I want to happen," said Soto.

Soto will face Hailey Chapman from Lake Arrowhead in the semifinals.
