PARADISE, Calif. -- The Bobcats are still one spot short in the D-III playoffs and potentially out despite finishing the regular season 10-0.
They are ranked ninth. The rankings are based on overall record, league and strength of schedule. Since the Bobcats participated in an independent league, they have zero points in that category.
The Bobcats have 15.75 points in total. They trail Orland (17.18) and Wheatland (19.92).
"We worked as hard as we can to get here," said senior Lukas Hartley. "We did everything we can and now there's not a whole lot we can do and I just put my faith in God and hope I get a playoff game.."
"I dont really want to think about not going to playoffs, but we gave it our all and we had our community on our backs and kept them in mind the whole time," said senior Josh Alvies. "Just everything we have played for and have accomplished we've done for [our community]."
It is possible that a Sutter win over Orland High this Friday will be enough for the Bobcats.
That game will be at Sutter High School and start at 7:30 p.m.
The section football committee will also meet in Red Bluff on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. to discuss the official rankings.
Action News Now will be at both.
