On Monday afternoon Kathy picked the red Hyundai Kona over the white Nissa Kicks, fitting for a Chico High fan.
Kathy says she bought two tickets from her grandson who is a part of Chico High's band. She bought two tickets.
"I didnt think it was my name until they called it a second time and then I said to my husband and the guy sitting next to me, 'that's my name," said Shepard. "I was just totally in shock because I never imagined. I never was really paying attention thinking I'll ever win."
Money from the raffle will fund the athletic programs at Chico High and Pleasant Valley High. The schools raised a record-setting $250,000.
