Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force bust butane honey oil lab in Oroville

Two men were arrested after authorities discovered items associated with a butane honey oil lab were located in Oroville.

OROVILLE, Calif. – Two men were arrested after authorities discovered items associated with a butane honey oil lab were located in Oroville.

The Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force and Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit served a search warrant at 200 block of Maple Lane in Oroville around 9 a.m. on Feb. 5 after they got reports of a person being attacked by armed men. One of them had fired several rounds inside a structure on the property.

Deputies arrived on the scene and located 36-year-old Tyler Birkley and 27-year-old Marco Dagnino.

During their search, items associated with butane honey oil lab and illegal firearms were found in plain sight at the property. 

The Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force and Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit were contacted because of the specialized training associated with processing a butane honey oil lab.

Additional narcotics including; meth, heroin, psilocybin mushrooms, a stolen ATV and additional illegal firearms were found on the property.

Deputies said both Birkley and Dagnino were arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail.

Birkley is currently being held on $165,000.00 bail. Dagnino is being held at the Butte County Jail on $168,500.00 bail.

Additional charges will be filed for the meth, heroin and psilocybin mushroom, according to the Butte Interagency Narcotics Task Force.
