The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet), the Northern and the California Veterans Cemetery and the NCVC Support Board are honoring veterans in northern California.

As part of National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday December 16th at 12 p.m. at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery volunteers and staff will place more than 100 wreaths at gravesites to honor veterans.

Each December, Wreaths Across America volunteers place holiday wreaths on graves and columbaria at more than 1,200 veterans’ cemeteries in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad to remember our fallen veterans, honor those who serve, and teach our children the value of freedom. Each year, the Northern California Veterans Cemetery’s Support Board has led the fundraising and ceremony efforts for this local event.

Cloudy skies and very light scattered showers are lingering across northern California for the start of your Wednesday, but we'll be clearing out and warming up Wednesday afternoon. We'll be sunny and warmer on Thursday, but clouds will increase Friday. More showers are looking likely Friday night into Saturday, but we'll dry out again for Halloween on Sunday.
