REDDING, Calif - The Shasta County District Attorney's office held its fourth annual Senior and Veteran Fraud Prevention Fair on Tuesday.
Vendors from dozens of organizations came out to help those, who are most targeted, learn new ways to remain safe.
Some of these tactics include learning how to fill out proper paperwork when getting into a car crash, learning to debunk contractors, and using the right pens to avoid check fraud.
One woman we spoke with said, someone, tried to steal money from her not once but twice!
Luckily pens she got at this event last year helped save her account.
“A person picked it up changed the amount but when they took it to the bank they could not lift all the ink. So this magic ink was coming through so bank confiscated that check,” said Kim Chamberlain.
Now after learning these pens work, she hasn't used any other pens.
