SHASTA COUNTY, Calif - The National Weather Service says snow is expected above 15,000 feet on Monday through Tuesday in Shasta County.

Drivers should plan on difficult travel conditions as they head up the mountains on either State Route 299, State Route 44 or on I-5.

This can include snow, which will cover roads and reduce visibility.

Drivers should use extra caution when driving through those areas and like always make sure to have a full tank of gas, snacks, water and blankets in case conditions get worse and Caltrans has to shut down the highways.

The welcome relief of showers will be with us this evening! They will continue to push through most places in the valley. Some places may not see some rain given their proximity to the mountains and the effects of a rain shadow
