GRANTS PASS, Ore. — For the third year in a row, Wildlife Images Rehabilitation & Education Center is offering jilted lovers the opportunity to (symbolically) feed their ex-partners to a ravenous brown bear.
The "Catch & Release" campaign coincides with Valentine's Day, and allows people the opportunity to buy and name a fish before it is fed to either Kodi or Yak — the park's two massive grizzly bears.

"At Wildlife Images, our mission is 'Saving Wildlife,' so we know that healing can come in all forms," Wildlife Images said in a statement. "We encourage folks to let our 700 pound brown bears tear into their ex, symbolically of course . . . If they fell hook, line, and sinker for someone who broke their heart Kodi and Yak, can help them get their revenge."
This year there are two ways to get involved and get a "unique sense of closure." The Catch & Release Standard edition offers an individualized certificate and a video link to watch the ferocious feeding. Premium includes those two offers, plus a photo of the named fish and a photo of the bears getting even. There are only 100 of the Premium editions available.
The Standard Catch & Release costs $20, while Premium costs $100.
Wildlife Images said that last year's Catch & Release saw more than 600 fish named and $12,000 raised for animal care at the park.
"Participants ranged in ages, gender, and location with the farthest being from Singapore!" Wildlife Images said. "Not everyone’s motivation was a broken heart. Some participants named their fish after a sports team that let them down, a tumor that was removed, or an addiction that was overcome."
More details and ways to get involved can be found on the Wildlife Images website, Catch & Release page.
