El Dorado Sheriff's Deputy killed responding to call

Deputies in El Dorado County said they were shot at while responding to a call early Wednesday morning. Deputies were responding to a call in the area of Sand Ridge and Bucks Bar road near Mt. Aukum road when they were shot at by an unknown number of people, the sheriff's office said. Multiple people are in custody as deputies continue to clear the area of any remaining suspects. People in the area are asked to shelter in place and report any suspicious activity to 911.

PG&E blackout: What you need to know

PG&E says they will decide sometime Wednesday whether it will shut off power for parts of the North State Wednesday evening. The company estimates $184,000 customers may lose power. If PG&E goes through with the shutoff, they say it could go out this afternoon. However, PG&E has still not given a specific time on when the shutoff could occur. Action News Now will continue to update with the latest information.

Red Bluff police ask for help in locating runaway juvenile

Red Bluff police are searching this morning for a missing girl. A 13-year-old Sayla Blanchard is still missing. One of the two girls who went missing in Red Bluff. The other girl 15-year-old Patience Keeler has been found safe, police said. They both ran away from their respective homes, according to police.

President Trump lifts Turkey sanctions, calls ceasefire in Syria "permanent"

Democrats call it the "most damning testimony so far against President Trump," the former ambassador to Ukraine drawing a direct line between frozen funds, and the president's demand to investigate his political rival. Republicans argue his testimony was unclear.  President Trump announced Wednesday that the U.S. will lift sanctions on Turkey, as there will be a "permanent" ceasefire in the conflict between Turkey and the Kurds in northern Syria.

Murder probe after 39 bodies found in truck container in southeast England

Police in southeastern England said 39 people were found dead in a truck container believed to have come from Bulgaria. Police arrested a Northern Ireland man in connection to the bodies. authorities say they are in the process of trying to identify the 38 adults and one teenager. they expect it to be a lengthy process.
