Red Flag Warning extended today

The red flag warning has been extended till at least until 6 p.m. Friday. High fire danger continues throughout the day. At this hour, PG&E says it is still restoring power to customers - but Action News Now will track the situation should that change.

Chico Police Officers involved in OIS identified

Action News Now has learned the identity of the man killed by officers, and the Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey identified the two Chico Police Officers involved in the officer-involved shooting. Chico police say they shot and killed Steven Vest at a Petco off Martin Luther King Jr., parkway on Wednesday. Both officers who fired shots are still on administrative leave and the Butte County District Attorney is now leading the investigation.

Bicyclist killed by Anderson Police car identified

New information on a police crash which left a bicyclist dead. Investigators say an Anderson Police patrol car hit and killed William Taylor of Redding on Highway 273 near Thomas Road. The CHP is leading this investigation. Action News Now is working to get more details about the crash.

Today's your last chance to respond to the 2020 census

Today is the last day of the 2020 census. If you have not already, California’s campaign is calling on everyone to take the census now. Internet and phone response are still open, and submissions postmarked for mail will still be accepted. As of today, only a little over 69% of California households have responded to the 2020 census.
