Evergreen Union School District in Cottonwood is closed for in-person learning after several positive coronavirus tests. The superintendent says parents need to stay in their cars with masks on when picking up hotspots or Chromebooks. Starting Monday, curbside meals will also be provided.

Town provides rebuilding update as 2 year Camp Fire anniversary approaches

We are just days from the second anniversary of the Camp Fire and there are several events happening to commemorate. However, because of Covid-19 restrictions, Town leaders said most of the events will be drive-by. A moment of silence is planned for 11:08 a.m. Sunday to remember the 85 lives lost. Stuff the Truck happening today

The Good News Rescue Mission is set to hold its 22nd annual Stuff the Truck event. It is at Save Mart and FoodMaxx in Redding. The drive starts just after 6:30 this morning and runs through 6 p.m. organizers are asking for thanksgiving staples, frozen turkey, pumpkin pie filling, stuffing, canned veggies, and potatoes.

Free flu shots available Saturday at Enloe Medical Center

Happening tomorrow, another opportunity to get a free flu shot. Enloe Medical Center will be holding its last flu vaccine clinic. It runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Butte College Chico center. The vaccines cover four common flu strains and are appropriate for ages 3 and up. Be sure to wear a mask and clothing that allows easy access for shots.

Covid-19 cases break record for second day in a row, topping 120,000

Two days in a row, the United States is hitting a single-day record for new Covid-19 cases. A total of 120,048 people tested positive Thursday, nearly 16,000 more than were reported Wednesday, according to NBC News tallies. The U.S. has the highest number of coronavirus cases and deaths in the world.

Storm Tracker Forecast: Cooler with rain & snow showers today

Much cooler temperatures and the potential for showers are on the way for your Friday and weekend forecast. Low pressure is tracking down the coast from the Gulf of Alaska, and bringing big changes into our region today. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. Friday morning through 10 p.m. tonight in the Sierra, Cascades, and a portion of Trinity county.

A cold front has moved over northern California on this day before Thanksgiving, and it brought light rain and snow showers to the higher terrain, gusty wind and cooler air for all. Thanksgiving will still be breezy, but also mild and pleasant.
