The site is at Corning High School and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 pm.., for the next two weeks. You do need an appointment before coming.

Butte County Public Health training more for contact tracing efforts

Butte County and state employees can now take a 20-hour online course to learn how to become contact tracers. That's when public health reps track down people who are sick -- and who may have been exposed to coronavirus. Through the program, Butte County added 12 new tracers that have joined the county's team, bringing the total number in Butte County to 41. The program is part of the governor's reopening requirements.

Trump says he's taking malaria drug in case he gets virus

Vaccine update; Moderna says volunteers showing positive results

There's some good news in the quest for a coronavirus vaccine: The biotech company Moderna says volunteers who got its COVID-19 vaccine had positive early results. Trial participants developed neutralizing antibodies to the virus that sometimes surpassed levels seen in people who've naturally recovered from Covid-19. Neutralizing antibodies bind to the virus, disabling it from attacking human cells. But it's still not clear whether natural infection confers immunity to reinfection, and so it's also not clear whether vaccination confers immunity.
